  Abstract:  Lucrarea îşi propune să studieze pericopa evanghelică Mt 27,3-26 cu ajutorul – sau prin prisma – analizei retorice. Analiza retorică este o metodă de interpretare a textului sacru, ce pune în evidenţă figurile stilistice prezente în cadrul textului sacru (paralelisme, antiteze, repetiţii etc.). În studiul retoric al textului există anumite etape prin care interpretul trebuie sã treacă, etape pe care prezenta lucrare le parcurge pas cu pas. Un prim pas este cel al studiului textului. Sunt analizate diferitele variante, mai importante, ce apar în textul luat în studiu. Tot în cadrul acestui pas sunt studiaţi termenii care prezintă – sau pot prezenta – probleme cu caracter lexicografic. În final este prezentată o traducere cât mai fidel posibilă.
