	Abstract: Postsocialism is over. There is a generation in the former state socialist countries which does not have memories of state socialism and does not compare their current experience to their lives under socialism. The usefulness of postsocialism as an analytical category has also faded. The time has come to not compartmentalize the experience of eastern Europe as socialist, not separate state socialism from capitalism, and post-socialism from the rest of the world.
