  Abstract:  The chapter focuses on the complex field of teacher Ė student relationship, aiming to stress the defining features that make this relationship an authority based one. We will define teacherís authority specific features, revealing the issues of its acceptance by the student. The teacher-student relationship dynamics will be described both in the formal and informal settings, as it occurs in and outside the school context. In the end of the chapter an appropriate definition of the "authority" concept will be given in its pedagogical perspective.
