Abstract:  The present essay discusses the application of anti-discrimination legislation in Romania. It considers the institutional framework created by the Romanian legislative in terms of its own characteristics. It is the argument of the author that the most important public institution created, the National Council for Non-discrimination, itself displayed discrimination in the procedure of its creation and in the way it handled several cases of public interest in the two years following its setting up.
