Abstract:  A new composition containing the entire series of 4d10 cations, In3+, Sn4+, Sb5+ and Te6+, In5.5Sn0.5Sb0.5Te0.5O12, which exibits an ordered oxygen-deficient fluorite-type structure, has been synthesized by solid state reactions in air. The latter was studied from point of view of structural, optical and electrical properties and compare with In6TeO12 and In5SnSbO12, previously reported. The structural results show an cation ordering of Sb5+/Te6+ and In3+/Sn4+ species on both octahedral and seven fold coordinated sites, respectively. Moreover the electrical conductivity of this new oxide, is enhanced by less than one order of magnitude with respect to In4Sn3O12 and it turns to a semi-metallic behavior in contrast to In4Sn3O12 which is a semi-conductor.

Keywords: transparent conducting oxides, oxygen-deficient fluorite-type structure, X-ray diffraction, Rietveld refinement, optical properties, electrical properties.
