Aus der Gewaltsamkeit seiner Interpretationen der wesentlichen Denker machte Heidegger nie einen Hehl. Er sah diese vor allem als Übersetzungen oder Versuche, ihren Gegenstand zu überhellen (Der Freiheitsbegriff.., S. 91 ff.), Versuche, die davon lebten, das Ungesagte (ebd.) im Gesagten aufzuspüren. Wissend um diese hermeneutische Herausforderung, gelingt es dem in Mathematik und Philosophie promovierten Heidegger-Forscher und Herausgeber Günther Neumann auf zweifache Weise, dem Leser Heideggers Verhältnis zu Leibniz und die subtilen Nuancen des Freiheitsbegriffs beider Denker näherzubringen.
