  Abstract:  Cartea lui Myriam Revault D’Allones este o analiză a gîndirii politice a lui Merleau-Ponty şi a legăturii pe care aceasta o are cu ontologia sa. Structurată pe patru capitole, lucrarea acoperă marile teme prezente în lucrările filosofului francez: fenomenologia ca metodă de chestionare a lumii, marxismul ca termen mediu între filosofie şi istorie, între filosofia istoriei şi filosofia politică, “cearta" cu Sartre şi, de aici, o nouă gîndire a istoriei, a evenimentului şi a acţiunii politice.
