  Abstract:  Dezvoltând o temă aleasă inclusiv pentru teza sa de doctorat – „Sistemul dreptului. Filosofie şi drept în gândirea lui Fichte", P.U.F., 1986 – Renaut, alături de Sosoe, încercă o abordare a filosofiei dreptului din perspectiva criti-cistă a unui curent de gândire ce se originează la Kant şi se împlineşte la Rawls. Renaut face parte dintre acei filosofi care au preluat radicalitatea interogaţiei asupra problemei subiec-tului care a dominat scena dezbaterilor intelectuale de la Heidegger până la post-deconstructivişti. Însă, dezvoltările oferite temei alese nu s-au rezumat la a face apologia ideologiei antiumaniste, ci se încearcă o temperare a argu-mentaţiei în maniera rawlsiană.
