Der Sammelband stellt exemplarisch einen literarischen zentraleuropäischen Raum in den Vordergrund und beleuchtet dabei die Multikulturalität, indem nicht nur das deutschsprachige literarische Leben in das Zentrum der Untersuchung gerückt wird, sondern auch das Rumänisch- und Ungarischsprachige. Dabei wird die Heterogenität des kulturellen Raums sichtbar und gleichzeitig wird im Kleinen eben das definiert, was Europa ausmachen müsste: Pluralität, Miteinanderleben, Akzeptanz. Die Analyse gibt Anlass zur Reflexion über die jahrhundertelange Koexistenz dieser Kulturen und über ihre Qualität.
