  Abstract:
The current Romanian television discourse. Pragmatic Characteristics. The Chinese’s Brand, moderator Cristian China Birta, guest Gigi Căciuleanu. Our study analyzes, from the perspective of types of pragmatic brands occurring in the discourse, one television show ranking among the televised discourses and having the guest of the show: Gigi Căciuleanu, a renowned choreographer and dancer. We approach certain aspects that emerged during the controlled mediated interaction (a televised debate) named The Chinese’s Brand, whose moderator is Cristian China Birta, and who has Gigi Căciuleanu as a guest. In our analysis, we have identified a corpus with various types of locutiv signals, each with its pragmatic function: pragmatic brands that relate the ongoing discourse to the previous discourse, pragmatic brands for requesting consent and/ or confirmation, pragmatic brands of confirming the speaker’s own words, pragmatic brands of the disagreement expressed regarding the ideas comprised in the speaker’s own discourse; pragmatic brands of discourse organization, structuring, reformulating pragmatic brands.

Key words: choreographer, dancer, controlled mediated interaction, locutiv signals.
