  Abstract:  
Benvenuto Cellini (Florence 1500-1571) and The King of France. Benvenuto Cellini (Florence 1500-1571) is a renowned artist and writer, famous for the sculptural representation of Perseu, a statue depicted in Piazza della Signoria, Florence.He was invited to the court of King Francis 1st, just like Leonardo, Il Rosso, or Il Primatice. The purpose of this paper is to study the relationship between the Florentine artist with his generous host, the King of France, and to show how his memoirs, La Vita (1558-1567), pay tribute to King Francis 1st and depict the difficult situation in which France was at the time.
