  Abstract:  E greu de cuprins în câteva cuvinte o activitate atât de vastă, de variată şi de valoroasă precum cea a Profesorului Ioan Baciu, doctor în Ştiinţe filologice, preşedinte al Societăţii Române de Lingvistică Romanică - filiala Cluj, Cavaler al Ordinului “Les Palmes académiques” conferit de Ministerul francez al Educaţiei naţionale, al cercetării şi tehnologiei. Privită în ansamblu, activitatea de cercetare a celui care a fost unul din cei mai reputaţi specialişti în domeniul lingvisticii franceze şi romanice din România ultimelor decenii impresionează, cum spuneam deja, prin varietatea preocupărilor.
