Abstract:  The Language of Women and Men. A Socio-linguistical Research. The language of women and men in Germany is part of the sociolinguistics, which analyses the relations between language and the social group typology of speakers but it is also related to the sociology, psychology and pedagogics. The purpose of this article is to present the differences and problems that arise when speaking about the language of women and men, from a sociolinguistical point of view, such as: the different language behaviour of men and women, the position of the feminist linguistics concerning this topic and the equal nomination of women in the language of law and administration. This theme is analysed also as far as the school books and didactic material is concerned. This article also referrs to the question whether the language of women and men is a sociolect, its characteristics and differences – violence through language, linguistic norms in communicative situations, verbal strategies and gender specific language variants, what the object and criteria of the feminist linguistics are and the different communication stiles of women and men. I regard the language of women and men as a gender specific language with a strong subjective and emotional character because it is not characterized by a linguistic historical evolution and it appeared and was introduced in the linguistics by the feminist linguistics and movements.
