  Abstract:  Beautiful, ugly, slim, fat, altered, sublime, grotesque, transcendental or, why not, translated, the body has always fascinated and intrigued people all over the world and has been the object and subject of study, analysis, interpretation, representation, transformation and translation ever since people became aware of its presence. The authors of the book, on whom you will find a few details in the lines below, have also entered the magic created around this powerful and challenging topic and have dedicated it more than four hundred pages. Hortensia Pârlog is a professor in the Department of English at the University of Timişoara and has published works in the English phonetics, syntax, lexicology, and pragmatics. Pia Brînzeu teaches English literature at the University of Timişoara. She was President of the Romanian Society of English and American Studies and has published studies of literary theory and criticism in prestigious journals abroad. Aba-Carina Pârlog is a lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Timişoara. Her fields of interest are post-modern literature and the practice of specialized translation.
