  Abstract:  J’ai fait sa connaissance aux réunions de la Société Roumaine de Linguistique Romane (SRLR – filiale Cluj), que j’ai commencé à fréquenter en 1970. Je venais de passer ma maîtrise en langue et littérature françaises et roumaines à la Faculté de Philologie et Carmen Vlad occupait depuis deux ans un poste d’assistante stagiaire à la Chaire de langue roumaine et de linguistique générale. Ce qui explique que je ne l’ai pas eue comme professeur et qu’au début, nos rapports se soient confinés aux échanges occasionnés par les réunions mensuelles de la SRLR.
