  Abstract:  Besides such great names of the Russian/Soviet film as Sergey Eyzenshteyn,Andrey Tarkovskiy, Sergey Bondarchuk, Nikita Mikhalkov and Andron Mikhalkov-Konchalovskiy whose works constitute a part of the world’s “golden teka”, we must also remarkLeonid Gayday’s (1923-1993) and Eldar Ryazanov’s (1927) films for their prominent role theyhave played in the familiarization and popularization of Russian culture. These works that arewatched with pleasure by every age-group today as well provide an unbelievably completepicture of Russia, Russian lifestyle and Russian view of life.
