Abstract:  In the cultural and literary anthropology approach, bells appear amazingly semantically comprehensive objects. Even folk tales of bell casting enable one to select literary toposes and concentrate the researcher’s attention on the community dimension of the subject, in which problems of the power and family ties among the children, the parents, and the spouses are present. These tales are present in the cultures of both the East and the West, enabling one to notice – among other things - a syncretic character of the bells.

Keywords: bells, folk tales, syncretic character, literary toposes
