Abstract:  The purpose of this paper is to present how speakers of Polish, Russian and Ukrainian perceive anger and express it. The analysis is mostly based on phraseological expressions describing symptoms of anger in the three Slavic languages (changes in facial expression, involuntary body movements, increase in body temperature and blood pressure, liver, gall bladder, stomach and bowels disorders, breathing difficulties). The linguistic model of anger seems to be universal, however, each of the analysed languages has also its own range of idioms belonging only to this language

Keywords: phraseological expressions, linguistic model of anger, Polish, Russian and Ukrainian languages
