  Abstract:  1944: wurde Petru Forna am 4. November in Sighetu-Marmaţiei, Kreis Maramureş als 2. Sohn des Hautarztes Emil Forna und der Juristin Dr. Pia-Lucreţia geboren; 1945: übersiedelte mit der Familie nach Cluj/Klausenburg; 1951-1962: besuchte die Grundschule, das Gheorghe-Şincai-Gymnasium; 1962: bestand die Abiturprüfung; 1962-1967: studierte Germanistik und Rumänistik an der Philologischen Fakultät der Babeş-Bolyai-Universität Klausenburg; 1967-1989: war als Hilfsassistent, Assistent und Lektor am Lehrstuhl für deutsche Sprache und Literatur tätig; 1983: promovierte mit der Arbeit: Die Semantik der Präposition im Deutschen und im Rumänischen. Eine kontrastive Untersuchung; 1990-2000: war als Dozent tätig; 1990-1993: war Leiter der Lehrstuhls für deutsche Sprache und Literatur der Philologischen Fakultät aus Klausenburg; 1993-1997: war Botschafter Rumäniens in der Republik Österreich; 2000: wurde zum Professor ernannt. Sein Schwerpunkt in Lehre und Forschung war: Mediävistik, Geschichte der deutschen Sprache, Theorie und Praxis des Übersetzens; 2005: starb am 8. Juli und wurde auf dem Zentralfriedhof in Klausenburg beigesetzt.
