	Article:	THE NEW ELECTRONIC PAYMENTS SYSTEM. Authors: DANIELA BEJU.


	Abstract: The new electronic payments system will be composed of three components: the RTGS system (Real Time Gross Settlement), Automated Clearing House and the bonds settlement system. The new system will offer many advantages, among which the most important are: the decrease of the settlement duration, the decrease of settlement costs and the improvement of liquidity management. The new electronic payments system will be gradually put into service beginning with the January 2004.
