Abstract: Prologue - theatrical convention at the ancient Greeks was assumed since the beginning in the structure of baroque opera. Distinguished section, with a clear functionality - to present the resume of the piece with the major themes and to take the goodwill of the public, the Prologue had various stylistic configurations. The study presents the most important and significant titles of opera “with” prologue and dramaturgical metamorphosis of this concept.
