Abstract:  The book covers a broad spectrum of topics from analysis, functional analysis and measure theory, needed for economic theory and econometrics. Its aim is to bridge the gap existing between the basic mathematical economics tools (calculus, linear algebra, constrained optimization) and the advanced economics texts, as, for instance, N. L. Stokey and R. E. Lucas, Recursive Methods in Economic Dynamics, Harvard University Press, 1989, which assume a working knowledge of functional analysis, measure theory and probability. In fact, one of the motivations to write such a textbook comes from the difficulties encountered by the students of the one of the authors to understand the above mentioned book.
