  Abstract:  We define the almost unimodal sequences and we show that under some conditions the polynomial P(Xk n) is almost unimodal (Theorem 1.7). A nontrivial example of almost unimodality shows that the sequence:
 
is symmetric and almost unimodal (Theorem 3.1). This result is connected to some representation properties of integers.
