Abstract:  The subject of consent is one of great interest in today’s criminal law. Euthanasia, basically an application of the victim’s consent in the case of homicide, has always been a controversial issue. Our study sets off with a presentation of the varieties of euthanasia and goes on to envisage the solutions comparative law has arrived at. Furthermore, the interpretation given by the European Court of Human Rights on the subject is not neglected. Finally we turn to analyze the situation in our own legal system suggesting the proper answer in light of today’s legislation as well as better solutions for a future enactment..
