Abstract:   We present some of the challenges of streaming video data in Peer-to-Peer systems, more specifi cally choosing the optimal set of active streaming sources for a video. This problem is modeled like a knapsack-like problem and solved using a genetic algorithm. We discuss the modeling process with emphasis on benefi t and cost, the new fi tness function which guides the deployed genetic algorithm as well as the obtained results with generated test data.
