Article:   CONTRIBUTIONS ON THE MINERALOGY OF THE CORUND CARBONATE DEPOSIT.

Authors:  TÓTH ATTILA.

Abstract:  The carbonate deposit with aragonitic aspect from Corund (Harghita county) is the result of post-volcanic phenomena, and it is deposited from salty bicarbonatic springs. Mineralogically it consists of calcite, magnesium calcite and aragonite. Most of the calcite layers are in fact paramorphoses after aragonite, fact revealed by the diagenetic processes.
