Abstract:  The Significance of Ethnography in Individualising Năsăudului Land. The ethnographic features of Năsăudului Land appear as a criterion at a superior level in the process of individualizing the region and its mental space. Our study highlights Năsăudului Land as an ethnographic entity. Even though the town of Năsăud has the status of “the town of the academicians”, the “land” still functions according to the laic and religious rules of a rural space. The region has been conservative in what the settlement type, the traditions and the folk costumes are concerned, but, after 1989, it has undergone the metamorphosis specific to the entire territory of Romania.
