Abstract:  Initiatives of Euroregional Cooperation in South-Pannonian Macroregion. This paper is presenting a specific way of cross-border cooperation between the neighboring regions of South-Transdanubia in Hungary, Slavonia in Eastern-Croatia, the border region of Northern Slovenia and South-eastern Austria. It has detailed information about the institutional background of this kind of interregional cooperation and future scenarios regarding the common development of this cross- border region. The most important obstacle of the enlarging the field of cooperation is that Croatia is still not a candidate to the EU membership, therefore the Croatian- Hungarian respectively the Croatian-Slovenian border region has no opportunity to access the financial assistance programs of the EU, that ensure the development of cross-border cooperation (especially the PHARE-CBC programme)2.
