  Abstract:  The Reorganisation of the Industry in Zalău. Ever since 1968 when the administrative authority was regained, Zalău has appreciably developed. As a result of the forced industrial process, it was set up an industrial platform with a complex outline (metallurgy, machines construction, chemistry).The process of industrialisation has led to a considerable increase in the population, to the alternation of the structure concerning different working fields. The same process has also engendered territorial extension as well as water supply problems. After 1990, the industry of Zalău began to restructure in order to be compatible with the market economy. This was a process that has brought about changes in the property forms of the companies and a decrease in the number of the employed. In spite of this fact, there haven`t been seized great transfers of properties for structuring the existing population because of the setting up of the small and middle societies, as well as because of the proliferation of the commercial activities that has taken over a part of the unemployed.
