Authors:  I. MAC, FL. PENDEA.

Abstract:  Upon the Periglacial Morphology of the Transylvanian Depression. In addition to an inventory of periglacial landforms in Transylvania the study emphasizes the role of the Pleistocene climate oscillations upon the morphogenetic processes with special view on the cold (periglacial) phases. Also, we tried to give a short insight of what has been done in the Romanian geographical literature in the respect of periglacial landforms and processes underlining some major shortcomings and speculation due to the lack of data (dating analysis, sedimentological analysis etc). The study gives some modest opinions in this respect and rises no claiming on closing the subject.
