Abstract:  The Spatial Distribution of the Settlements in Almaş-Agrij Depression. On the territory of this relief unit, included administratively in the Sălaj County, there are to be found 80 rural settlements, with a population of 32.000 inhabitants. The alignments situated on the both main valleys – Almaş and Agrij – concentrate 40 % from the total number of the settlements. The average density is 7 settlements / 100 km2, close to the one that is to be found in the hilly regions of Romania. The dispersion index of the settlements at level of a commune varies in relatively large limits (0,3 – 6,8), but the middle values (2,1 – 5,1) are prevalent.
