Abstract:  The Scientific Research in the Last 10 Years at the Faculty of Geography, Cluj-Napoca. From the aspects underlined by the authors, first of all it is tried a demonstration of the continuity of a scientific creative effervescence from the appearance of the Geography’s specialization till now. It is worth to be mentioned that the scientific personality of Academician Prof. Tiberiu Morariu influenced profoundly the research activity of the geographers from Cluj and farther. A fact evidently remarked is that in the last ten years from when the Faculty of Geography is independent within the “Babeş-Bolyai” University, the role of geographical scientific research from Cluj is increasing in the national and international scientific life. Besides the winning of many contracts of research at the contests opened by the National Council of Scientific Research from Higher Education (N.C.S.R.H.E.), the participation at congresses and symposiums, with a national and international character, the prizes from the Romanian Academy and from other organizations, the geographic scientific research from Cluj has contributed to the development of the material basis of the faculty through endowments of the existent laboratories and through the setting up of new ones. And not in the last turn, another very important aspect must be noticed, that of engaging the researches in the solving of some problems of a great practical interest, fact which confirms the dynamic role which it plays in the economic development of the community.
