  Abstract:   This article deals with the issue of normative pluralism by trying to identify its conditions of possibility in the case of the Roma communities in Romania. It proposes a theoretical investigation of the concept of normative pluralism, a brief socio-historical analysis of the evolution of the internal normative system of the Roma communities in Romania, a discussion over the possibility and the opportunity of implementing an official pluralist normative framework for the Roma communities and a case study of the particular way in which the informal mechanisms of normative pluralism work in the case of the Roma community of Craciunesti (Mures county).
