Article:   DOCUMENTATION IN JOURNALISM. ROSIA MONTANA CASE.

  Abstract:

Documentation in Journalism. Rosia Montana Case. A recent and low profile documentation visit carried out in New Zealand by a group of journalists, with the support of Gold Corporation, woke tumultuous reactions of the media. Could this be the abandon of “all journalism praxis”? Are these incriminations nothing but the reaction of those who weren’t on the trip? Is, however, the visit an “ethical crime” (as Doru Buscu was wondering auto ironically, calling up the curiosity presumption). Moreover, appeals of saving the “tearful Rosia Montana” generated a wide-scale emotional tremble. We must admit the fact that Alburnus Maior (the old name of the village) has always fed a “diabolic enchantment”.

In this paper, we are examining the present case without warlike inflammation and smoky props. In the following, we therefore set out to bring forward – with an analytic calmness and based on technical-sociological valuations – the demonstrations, pondering upon pros and cons of the matter.
