Article:   LANGUAGE AND STYLE IN THE SPEECH OF CORNELIU VADIM TUDOR.

Authors:  ILEANA COTELEA.

Abstract:  The political communication of Corneliu Vadim Tudor from 1990 to 2004 is not an ordinary one. The politician knows how to manipulate the public and the skills he uses are various and complex; we will see what are these skills and will analyse the style of his communication. The so called „wood language”, the elements of satire and pamphlet, the religious pathos, the violence of his speeches, the apocalyptical images he invoques and the elements of electoral propaganda are only a few important aspects the paper deals with, offering various examples from „România Mare”, the politician’s newspaper. It seems that this type of electoral speech was very successful in Romania, but we should see the coordinates and the context that made this possible.
