  Abstract:  Cu volumul Martei Petreu Cioran sau un trecut deocheat ne aflăm în faţa unei re-re-editări şi faptul trebuie subliniat ca atare. Dând curs unor preocupări stringente în epocă, cartea a apărut întâia dată în 1999 sub titlul Un trecut deocheat sau Schimbarea la faţă a României, beneficiind de o primă re-editare în 2004 şi de o variantă în limba engleza, publicată în SUA, în 2005. Ediţia de faţă, purtând un titlu uşor schimbat, are un statut privilegiat, deschizând, alături de alte două volume, (antologia de poezie Apocalipsa după Marta şi debutul în proză al autoarei, Acasă, pe câmpia Armaghedonului), seria de autor a Editurii Polirom dedicată Martei Petreu.
