  Abstract:  Social Representations of the Otherness - 2001. The newspapers are offering a mediated social reality. One can easily find in the media not only common sense stereotypes and even prejudices regarding the STRANGER, but also very original approaches. The present study is meant to reveal the interest of the most prominent Romanian daily newspapers (Adevarul, Evenimentul Zilei, Libertatea) for certain categories of strangers, whether they are members of minority groups, neighboring peoples or Western peoples.
