  Abstract:

Over the last few years, changes to the rules of table tennis have seen an increase in ball mass (from 2,5 to 2,7 grams) and diameter (from 38 to 40 mm), and a reduction in the maximum match score (from 21 to 11 points). These changes were designed to reduce rally speed and increase rally duration. These modifications should require adaptations by players in their performance and phisycal preparation.

Key words: table tennis, ball, players, chenges
