Abstract: In 1966 Jerzy Grotowski had the opportunity to present Calderon''''s The Constant Prince in Paris on the stage of the international festival “Théâtre des Nations”, an emblematic performance of one of the greatest theatrical works of the 20th century which imposed the name of this great theorist in the world. Based on an original text discovered fifty years later, our article is organized around Grotowski’s confession which should be considered as historic because this was the first public unveiling of a secret theatrical practice. Keywords: Theatre des Nations, Grotowski in France, renewal in theatre |
