Abstract: Completely opposed to the habits of other nations, Romanians choose to spend their spare time in front of the tv. At least this is what the research show year after year by the large number of average hours spent this way in one day. Even the week-end is sacrificed on the shrine of the small screen, instead of quality time with the family or the consume of cultural products. Why such a phenomenon given the abandon of the practice in other parts of the world and why its resistance in the conditions of a somewhat diverse alternatives are the questions that I try to answer in the following text.
