  Abstract:

Cultural identity in the Theatre can take two forms, cultural affinity and tribalism. Its milder form of cultural affinity is generally thoughtful and tolerant, whereas the baser form of cultural identity is latent tribalism, intolerant and reactionary, that can result in a de facto but very real form of censorship in theatre productions.
