  Abstract:  

Sonication was applied to provide energy for the chemical reaction between diiron nonacarbonyl and 1,3-di-(hetero)aryl-propenone derivatives. New chalcone tricarbonyliron(0) complexes were obtained and characterized by IR spectroscopy. Advantages of this synthetic method are related to short reaction times and good yields.
