The new (NH₄)₆₀{U₃Ì{(Mo^_VI)Mo₅^VIO₂₁(H₂O)₆}₁₂{Mo₂^VO₄ (SO₄}₃₀].308H₂O spherical cluster was synthesized as ammonium salt and investigated by means of elemental analyses, FT-IR, Raman, UV-Vis and EPR spectroscopy and by magnetic measurements. The results suggest the binding of uranium cations to the SO₄^2- ligands and the quasi-cubic local symmetry around the uranium ions.
