  Abstract:

The paper concerns obtaining SnO2 ceramics with addition of 1, respectively 2 % mol ZnO, and of 0.01 %, 0.05 % and respectively 0.1 % mol Sb2O3. The oxides were mixed in wet state, in ethanol. The thermal treatment was experimented at three temperatures (1150, 1200 and 1250 ˚C) defined based on the results of the dilatometric analysis. Apparent density, compactness and electrical characteristics of ceramics depend on both sintering temperature, and the dopant type and amount. By doping, ceramics with about 85 % of the theoretic density were obtained. Electrical resistivity increases with the amount of dopant.

Keywords: ceramics, tin dioxide, dopant
