  Article:   HETEROCYCLES 34. SYNTHESIS AND ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTIVITY OF NEW POLYHETEROCYCLIC SCHIFF BASES AND MANNICH BASES.

  Abstract:   New polyheterocyclic Schiff bases and Mannich bases containing 5-(pyridin-4-yl)-2H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thione moiety have been synthesized. The structures of the newly obtained compounds were confirmed by spectral analysis IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and MS. The obtained Schiff bases and Mannich bases were screened for their anti-inflammatory activity using the carrageenan-induced rat paw oedema test. Compounds 6c, 6f, 7b, 7c, 7d, 8a, 8c, 8d, 8f and 10 showed significant anti-inflammatory activity.
