Abstract:  New N,N-dimethyldithiocarbamato derivatives of organotin(IV) and –lead(IV), R2MCl(S2CNMe2) (R = Bu, M = Sn; R = Ph, M = Sn, Pb), R2M(S2CNMe2)2 (R = Bu, Ph, M = Sn) and R3M(S2CNMe2) (R = Ph, M = Sn, Pb; R = Me, M = Pb), were prepared and characterized by multinuclear (1H, 13C, 2D) NMR spectroscopy in solution. The molecular structures of Ph2SnCl(S2CNMe2) (3), Ph2Sn(S2CNMe2)2 (4) and Ph2PbCl(S2CNMe2) (6) were established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In all cases the dithio ligand acts as an asymmetric monometallic biconnective moiety. The mixed chloro-dithiocarbamato derivatives 3 and 6 exhibit distorted trigonal bipyramidal C2MClS2 cores, with a sulfur and chlorine atoms in axial positions. For Ph2Sn(S2CNMe2)2 (4) a distorted octahedral environment is achieved, with cis organic groups attached to tin atom.
