  Abstract:   Cicerbita alpina (L.) Wallr. (Asteraceae, Lactucoideae, Lactuceae) is one of the four species of the genus Cicerbita native to the European mountains. It is distributed in the Alps, Pyrenees, northern part of the Balkan Peninsula mountains, Carpathians, Sudetes, some lower mountain ranges of central Europe and in Scandinavia.
