  Abstract:   Ribes petraeum Wulfen is an European species, limited in its occurrence to mountain ranges. It occurs from the Pyrenees through the Vosges, Alps, Dinarides, Sudetes, Carpathians, to the mountains of the Balkan Peninsula, where it grows in sycamore forests and subalpine scrub and tall-forbs. It was also noted in North Africa (the Atlas Mts.).
