Abstract:  At the Root of Wrongful Life: the link between suffering and “harmed conditions”. The purpose of the essay is to make a critical reading of the notion of a harmed condition and its connection with the notion of suffering, within the discourse on the „wrongful life”, in the context of the theoretical debate on disability. The analysis takes into account the cultural context in which parenting is reconsidered: generate someone in a „harmed condition” is a synonymous of make a maltreatment. The article also consider in detail the topics that describe disability as a „harmed condition” and its connection with the notion of suffering. The essay is structured in three sections. In the first section is evaluated the theoretical framework that attempts to rethink the generative choices and disability through a legal language. The second focuses on the relationship between the terms disability, harm and suffering. The third makes a critique of the model of the harmed conditions and the theoretical link with the notion of suffering.
