ETHICS AND ASSISTED BY REPRODUCTION VULNERABILITY. CASE STUDY. Authors: MIHAELA FRUNZĂ. |
||||||
Abstract: This paper examines the ways in which the concept of „vulnerability” might be applied in an applied ethical analysis to the technologies of assisted reproduction. In order to facilitate the analysis, a problematic, highly-publicized study case is discussed – namely, the scandal involving human eggs from the Sabyc clinic. As shown from the analysis, the degrees of vulnerability are distributed in different ways to the various categories of participants, and the current legislative framework is not sufficiently adapted to all the features of these technologies. Keywords: bioethics, assisted reproduction, vulnerable population, transplant, Romania. |
